
This page will give you some very basic information sufficing to the centre and how we operate.

The centre is open 6.30 am to 6.30 pm Monday to Friday.
The Centre closes over Christmas and New Year. Dates will be announced later in the
year. We are closed on all public holidays.

Our centre is renovated on three heritage listed properties and is full equipped with three
playrooms for the children and two outdoor areas.
A separate area for Babies and toddlers and other for the 3-5 year olds and is licensed for 60 children. The children are grouped into the rooms according to age and some times to developmental needs. Family grouping (combined age groups occur in the early morning and late afternoon in Group 2. The centre runs a funded preschool program with qualified Early Childhood teachers.

Each room has a minimum of two staff members, with group 1 having three. Additional relief staff assists the staff at children’s lunch time and rest time. Each room has a Group Leader and a Childcare Worker. All staff hold appropriate qualifications Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching, Nursing, and Diploma or certificate in children’s services.
In addition each staff member is required to hold a current First Aid certifi cate and Anaphylaxis management and update their CPR annually. All staff undertakes professional development monthly. It is a requirement by law that all staff are police checked and holds a Blue Card (working with children check) administered by The Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian.
It is the aim of all members of staff at the centre to establish positive communications and partnerships with all of our children and their families.

Children who attend our Centre participate in a range of activities and have the opportunity to participate in a balance equitable and holistic program in these specific areas of early childhood development

The activities that happen at the Centre are built around the daily routines. Children need routines to help them to settle and feel comfortable in the Centre. Child routine form is to be filled out by the parent and child’s routines are discussed with the staff.
Routines are built around the regular events of the day i.e. arrival, morning/afternoon tea, drinks, toileting, nappy change, main meal, washing, dressing, sleeping/rest and departure, and take into account the..
- developmental needs of individual children,
- climate and physical environment,
- the numbers and ages of children within the group,
- Children with special needs, and parent expectations.

Meals form a significant part of the daily routine. The Centre employs an experience Food Safety supervisor who prepares Breakfast morning and afternoon tea, lunch and late snack.
The menu is varied, balanced nutritious and multicultural based. The weekly menu is displayed on the notice board in the foyer as well as in your child’s room. Ideas and recipes from the cook are displayed in the monthly newsletter. Family recipes are definately welcome.
